Where & What To Eat


Breakfast/Brunch
- 19 Cafe Bar – Must try for American breakfast and brunch.
- Cafe North – So many options and surprisingly budget friendly for being in the city.
- Y2 Cafe – This family-run Persian cafe offers passionate service and authentic flavors, with Mom leading the kitchen. Save room for dessert; their pistachio tiramisu is a creamy delight worth savoring.
Lunch Anyone
- Rustica – Takeaway sandwiches or “butty’s” as Mancunians call them at budget friendly prices without skipping on taste.
- Arndale Market – It’s a mall but their food market in the first floor offers an array of global cuisine.
- Northern Soul Grilled Cheese – Even the mac and cheese alone is delicious.
- Off The Press – This cafe is great for lunch and coffee, but do keep in mind they close early.
Dessert & Baked Goods
- The Flat Baker – Cute stall bakery offering expected and unexpected items like a pistachio croissant ice cream cone.
- Black Milk – Fabulous place if you are looking to treat yourself with sundaes, waffles, cakes and shakes.
- Gail’s – Great option for baked goods and lunch.
- D G H N T – As the name hints, these are tastiest donuts to come to Manchester and beating the once popular Gooey.
- Sugar Junction – Visit for their tasty cakes and large foccacia sandwiches.
Dinner Or Tea How Brits Call It
- Mala – Another place to find an array of stalls offering delicious food and drinks in a cool garden setting.
- Ramona – Delicious and lively venue for Detroit Style Pizza and margaritas with nightly free events.
- Hawksmoor – Fancy steak restaurant.
- Ducie Street Warehouse (Restaurant) – On Sunday, this is the place to go for a tasty Sunday roast.
- Lucky Mama’s – Incredible roman pizza and fresh pasta restaurant. I love ordering a pizza to share and then pasta’s as our mains.
Ethnic Specific Cuisine
- Ornella’s Kitchen – By far my favorite Italian restaurant. While they have moved slightly outside the city the quality has not changed. Delicious! The food is authentic and tastes beyond what you would expect.
- Curry Mile – A “mile” long road of Middle Eastern restaurants, bakeries, markets ranging in prices. Everyone will find something to eat here.
- Armenia – Very well known for its authentic Armenian dishes near town hall.
- Bar San Juan – The most authentic Spanish Tapas bar I have found in Chorlton. Be sure to order their sangria as you will not be disappointed.
- Cardinal Rule – With a cult following that includes me, this Southern American fried chicken biscuit sandwich spot is one not to miss.
- Habesha – My favorite and affordable Ethiopian cuisine restaurant in Manchester. Their veggie platter is perfect for even non vegetarian’s who want to sample a variety of Ethiopian dishes.
- Dishoom – Fantastic Indian cuisine. My favorite time to visit is for breakfast for their breakfast naans and unlimited chai.
- El Rincon de Rafa – Must try and authentic Spanish restaurant in the city center.
- Tattu – Posh modern Chinese sharing restaurant with top cocktails.
- Pull Up Bar Cafe – Delicious Jamaican cuisine in this Northern Quarter neighborhood.
- Albert Schloss – German restaurant with beer galore. Has clubby feels on the weekends.
Manchester Bars
- Three Little Words – The perfect place to indulge your taste buds with a seasonal rotating drink menu.
- The Marble Arch – Award winner for the best pub in Manchester. Need I say more?!?!
- Speak In Code – The creativity in the concept matches the creativity in their cocktails.
- Blinker Bar – Dare yourself to try something new, the mixologists here will never steer you wrong.
- The Shakespeare – Old Tudor style building with its iconic black and white look.
- Project Halcyon Distillery – This 50’s best cocktail spot is hidden inside of a turn of the century warehouse and totally worth finding.
- Sterling – A speakeasy bar that’s actually worth visiting a hotel for even as a local.
