As a solo Latina wanderluster exploring the Baltics with my travel buddy, I was utterly charmed by Riga, Latvia’s stunning Old Town and lively food scene during our quick 3 day stopover. Eager to make the most of our short visit, we packed our weekend itinerary with the best of Riga in 3 days: eat, play, enjoy. This included the must-see candy-colored buildings, towering Riga Cathedral, mouthwatering black balsam cocktails, hearty Latvian fare, and a cozy hostel overflowing with fellow backpackers.

| Money Accepted: | Credit cards are accepted in most places with many ATMs available if you do need cash. | ||
| Safety In Riga: | If these two chicas, one being Latina and the other Italian, could safely explore the lively streets of Riga without any problems as tourists, then you can too. | ||
| Friendly To Tourists/Latinas: | Contrary to rumors about unfriendly locals in Riga, our experience proved the opposite. | ||
| Length Of Stay: | To explore Riga exclusively, I would recommend 2 – 3 days and adding more days if you wish to explore more cities around Riga including the coast. | ||
| Additional Tips: | No shoes inside hostel English is spoken less than in Lithuania as Russia is their second language. |
Ways To Get Around Riga
| Walk | Given the size of the city, it is very easy to explore on foot. |
| Bus | There are many local bus’ in Riga that operate around the city and to other nearby cities, such as Sigulda. These can easily be paid via card or cash and grabbed from the central bus station or around the city. |
| Car Rental | Depending on the number in your group and if you want to explore beyond Riga, then I would suggest considering renting a car. Book your car rental. |
